Hard to forget the Dire Straits. Great Albums to which I also keep going back. From my experience they work as a musical interface meaning if one can't do anything with someone elses taste of music, people often agree with Dire Straits - even on an international scale.
Hello Citizens, maybe I am not the only one who is curious about our city's taste of music. Befor you start flaming, concider how hard it has become to define music genres. There are sub-genres claiming to be original (like Metal) and there are bands/musicians who are sorted wrong (like The Offspring). Let's just do our best. Below you find explanations which hopefully help you vote (only one vote is hard but please play along). I refrained from adding examples of bands/musicians because it is much work. However, if people are interested and willing to help, I would gladly provide you with well-established examples for the categories below. The list is designed to help younger and older citizens as well, so chill if you are not entirely satisfied. Have fun voting!

Guys, I know its insanely expencive but the PS4 VR System rocks. Its like looking through diving goggles but one actially is some place else. Like vacation. The headset is quite comfortable, the resolution could be higher but is sufficient for a start. Personally, I have no problems but some people who tested the system experienced indispositon while playing games which require movement. The brain has difficulties dealing with those informations while the body is sitting. The games available at the moment are not that awesome, Sony announced to launch 50 games until the end of the year. Right now 'PlayStation VR Worlds' is the only game I can recommend. It features several mini games of different genres including for example a ball game which is played with the head, an awesome gangster story (plus shooting stand) and a real scary dive with a shark attack. One needs a PS 4, a PS VR Headset, a PS Camera and 2 PS Move Motion Controllers. I'm sure the price will drop for christmas, so if you are already thinking about it just wait and see XD

You are right CatHead, the way the jury decided to end the contest sucked - and so did the way the participants decided to run it. If I were jury, I would leave TSC to the mob and create myself a second and exclusive yearly singing contest :P
Hahaha, well ... I made such an effort not to violate the four minutes rule! Days later I banged my head on the table realizing that the deadline was three minutes, not four. I thought I'd be disqualified. Thank you jury for letting me finish the contest!!!
"Everything takes long in Torn" is an original song - lyrics and music by John Wick. The fact thatI used riffs and beats from JamStudio does not make it less original, because chords, composition, style, sounds and tempo were chosen by me. I even own the rights! :-)
Concerning the real world - you are absolutely right, Jazzy. However, this is Torn City, the most ineresting, crazy, colorful and tolerant township on the planet imao. Young or old, black or white, stupid or smart, rich or poor - everyone is a part of the family. Isn‘t it nice to have a place where you can do things you don’t dare to do in the outside world? There are people who love singing and do it all the time although they got no talent at all. A contest in Torn gives those a chance to be themselves in public - no matter what. Entries lacking tune and passion and heart and words and theme and cadence, those have been taken out by the jury. Only those who noticably enjoy music made it Top 13. Sad is a lack of self-confidece among the participants. Some of those you complain about, Jazzy, managed to touch me or to make me laugh but did not get my vote because of cheating. They obviously do not know what they got and they probably never will. My only complaint in this contest is a lack of theme. However, Eurovision Song Contest is, well, quite European. Thus, citizens not knowing the style are excused - kinda. Guys, it won‘t hurt to watch a few videos for example in order to learn that experimental stuff is inappropriate.

Germany has two succsessful punk bands - as in they make millions and fill every stadium. "Die Toten Hosen" (The dead pants) are more like Simpsons and "Die Ärzte" (The Doctors) are more like South Park. I like "Die Ärzte" because their lyrics are sarcastic, explicit, mean as well as insanely intelligent and funny - plus they master almost every kind of music style. Of course they too went pop over the last 40 years yet I don't care. That way they are able to reach a real big audience in order to save us from stupidity. They really make a difference! The song I picked is their biggest hit. It aims against nazis and when the singer sings "Ohoho...", the audience shouts "Arschloch" (Ass-hole). I like to recommend to you the new Disturbed Album "Evolution". It was released recently and did really surprise me. I like the album before it very much and usually... well you know what I mean. Actually, the new shit is just plain beautyful. Beautyful melodies, beautyful changes, beautyful lyrics, beautyful singing - yet it is not cheesy. It is bombastic as well as diversified and a shows development - by now the singer cleary needs a firearm certificate for his voice. I can also recommend the special edition. Among good bonus songs, one finds a live duet version of "Sound Of Silence".
Smokey, you are absolutely right! Everyone should get something. It takes not only time but also a lot of courage to sing/rap in public! Showing one's voice is something very private. It cannot be compared to painting a picture or making a selfie.
I suggest special certificates. Maybe for having participatetd at all and also for having been outstanding. Side effect: those items would stimulate the demand for display cabinets ;-)
Btw, if you guys ask yourself why outstanding talents/professionals/hobby musicians participate in an open contest at all... well, they all are little Roger Rabbits. :-)))
Why oh why are people always enviously when it comes to arts? I mean, artists don't whine about fair and unfair when it comes to numbers or whatever it is they suck at. Actually, many artists suck at like everything except arts, including selling themselfes. Plus, many got poor health so there really is nothing to be jealous of. Give them people what they earn!
I can imagine Duke pics one winner for good singing/rapping, one for good writing and one for both. Or maybe he too ignores the real good stuff, just not out of... well, foolishness :P but in order to encourage people to participate - again or at all. That would make sense to me. Or maybe he pics one good, one average and one poor performance out of everything he enjoys - which is what I would do :-) And in Duke's place I probably would ignore professionals because usually they neither need nor want to win.
However, EVERYONE participating needs and wants an effin LIKE if you like what they delivered. I will work myself through all the entries as soon as I find time to do so. XD
