I, personally, got all the business educations out of the way before I started mine a few months ago. However, if you didn’t an AN is a small business anyway, so it wouldn’t help a whole lot anyway (other than 6th set of upgrades).
1) Don’t be afraid to hire noobs. I think I’ve only ever hired one person who had 4-digit stats across the board. Every other employee I hired wasn’t even 100 days old with less than 3k total stats. Requirements for positions in the company are pretty low anyway, it won’t take long to get them trained up. Just drop them in positions you need and train them.
2) TornStats. TornStats. TornStats. This is the best tool at your disposal for getting all the information you could possibly need. Efficiency of your employees in their current positions and what their efficiency would be in other positions, time since their last action, How many of each stock item you sold, how much they costed you to buy and how much you made in profit from them. It’s in valuable. I also made an excel spreadsheet where I tracked sales over 7 days, calculated percentages of sales for each item, then turned that percentage into how much of each item I should keep in my warehouse (If condoms are 30% of my sales then 30% of my warehouse is condoms, etc.)
3) Be flexible. No company is the same. Go look at the top ANs, and copy their setup, but be ready to change. Ask other ANs their prices but be ready to change.
4) You’re the boss. I paid my employees $50k when I first started (but remember, they were all extremely new). Some complained, some left, in the end the ones who stuck around are still here to this day. I didn’t pay them so low to be an *******, I paid them what they were contributing to the company, and the ones who didn’t leave understood they were noobs. Plus, 3* is super easy to get, so even if they were only making $50k now they would be making about $500k/day once we reached 3*. As the boss it’s up to you to make sure your employees understand you aren’t running a charity, it’s a business. The whole point of this business is to make you money (not that they won’t be well-compensated for their work in edvds, and other benefits).
5) Treat your employees well, always. Talk to them, be understanding of their real life stuff, and realize that there are things in TORN they want to do outside of sitting in your company for the next ten years. I’ve had a few employees that wanted to go off and finish the other base jobs for bonuses, but really wanted to come back. How you handle that situation is up to you.
Really wish these inexperienced owners would stop offering stupid high salaries. They see big numbers and think that everyone should be paid big numbers. Idk how they're making any money paying $3m+ to everyone who walks through the door
As a caveat to this, if you haven't received your pneumonia vaccine and are eligible (US: usually over 65 y/o) PLEASE GET IT. If you're a part of the high risk populations, that being elderly, asthma, other respiratory diseases, PLEASE GET THE VACCINE. It won't protect you from the coronavirus, but viral upper respiratory infections of any kind usually depress your mucociliary escalator (the microscopic hairs in your bronchi and throat) which are responsible for removing foreign debris, mucus, and bacteria from those areas and preventing them from getting into the alveoli. Once these are depressed it's extremely easy for at risk populations to develop pneumonia which is difficult to treat. I'm not familiar with vaccination in other countries, but if you think you're at risk check with your local health authorities or your primary car eprovider.
I think everyone has hit the important points. A mail before leaving so we have a heads-up, waiting until the day turnover, giving us a chance to increase their pay before dipping to a new job. Wish more employees would read these, I've had three employees dip out without saying a word then be dicks when I asked them why they left.

Personally, I enjoyed the challenge of starting a company from scratch (did it twice). If you want to do that, I suggest having enough money in the company bank (completely separate from startup) to run in the red for atleast a month. Do your research and figure out what you want form your company. Whether it be stacks of cash or the benefits that come from each company type, each company has their ups and downs.
2019 was a whole stew of negative emotions for just about everyone I know (myself included). Going into 2020, I’m going to try to “hunt the good stuff,” where I end each day and reflect on atleast three positive things that happened (no matter how small or petty they may seem).
Pharmacy student (my super cool title that I get to put on all my emails is Candidate, Doctor of Pharmacy). But it sucks a lot, I wonder most days if it’s actually going to be worth it
I’ve got two people on my list. The first is haha_noob, a random dude I met in the non-related gaming forums talking about Old School Runescape. We became close friends soon after, exchanging advice, goofing around in OSRS and Torn, and talking a lot of crap to each other over this time. He’s a great guy who cares about his friends and I really appreciate him.
the other is STEVE_HOLT, whom I actually met through haha_noob. Another amazing dude who has given me a plethora of crazy opportunities in a really short amount of time. Steve drug me out of a monotony that I’d put myself in while playing this game, and revitalized my love for Torn. I consider him another close friend, which come few and far between these days.
Committee members and faction leaders as individuals are subject to a large amount of scrutiny as-is. But when a single player is both then it becomes extremely controversial. If their best interest is to serve at their best in one of those roles they should step-down from the other. It’s really unfortunate, but that’s the way that it is.
There should be chats for looting Duke a Leslie (preferably separate from each other) so attacks can be better coordinated than a discord bot pinging people when it’s almost time. The chats could only be accessible when on the attack page for the NPC, similar to only having access to hospital chat while in the hospital. Looting an NPC at the moment is frustrating as the attacks usually end up finishing before the NPC reaches Level IV.
