Shortly after the COVID-19 lock downs, my Dad and I got into motorcycles. (I think this was around summer of 2021, we weren't locked down for long in Florida.) My first bike was a 1985 Honda Shadow 700cc. (I have pics of it and my other bikes somewhere on this forum.) After that, I was hooked. I don't remember if it was in 21 or 22 but my Dad and I rode to Daytona's Biketoberfest in the fall and had a great time! While there, we had to stop by the largest Indian Dealer in Florida. I immediately fell in love with the retro styling of Chief Vintage and Springfield. I even told myself and others, the next bike I would get would be an Indian. Then I saw their price...

At this time I went from riding my $700 Honda Shadow to a $500 1986 Honda Goldwing GL1200 (Both of which were steals I know). The price tag on even a used Indian was around $15,000. Needless to say, a bit out of my price range. Since then, I've purchased another Honda and a Harley but hadn't been able to get my hands on an Indian. I've been saving money up over the years and have been keeping an eye out from my 'dream bike.' This past Monday, I had the amazing opportunity to buy a 2015 Indian Chief Vintage for a great price! After some haggling, I got an even better one and am now the proud owner of it!

Below is a photo of it I took around the day I bought it. It needs some cleaning and polishing but is in pretty great condition! I have been working on treating and doing a bit of restoration to its leathers currently and it is turning out great as well. It rides like a dream and handles better than any other bike I have ridden. (Including a Police Harley Davidson Electra Glide.) I couldn't be more happy with it at the moment and just wanted to share!

I'd love to here what you all think of it, what you ride (if you do), and what is your dream bike (if you have one)? Also let me know if you are interested in seeing more pics/progress pics as I clean it up? Thanks for reading and have a great one!

I think picking what game to play is something all gamers deal with. I usually just scroll my library until something calls to me.

When buying games, I like to find games with good price to playtime ratios. Games from companies like Bethesda games and Paradox Games are great at that. I have purchases many of these companies games for under $50 and spent 1000s of hours playing them. That's good value to time played for me!

The games I have played the most and recommend are:

• RPGs
  • Elder Scrolls Skyrim (Fantasy RPG)
  • Fallout New Vegas (The GOAT, fight me)
  • Fallout 4 (Post-Apocalyptic RPG)
• Strategy
  • Hearts of Iron IV (If you like WWII)
  • Stellaris (If you like Star Trek and other space themes)
  • Crusader Kings (If you like the Middle Ages)
• Other I think have great value!
  • Rimworld (Modern Dwarf Fortress... if anyone remembers that game anymore.)
  • Terraria (Flat Minecraft with so much more.)
  • Minecraft (It's minecraft can't really explain it better.)
  • Kenshi (Rimworld but 3D and harder.)

I also play a few Sim games but that is a much more niche genre.

Just wonder if anyone else on Torn is playing Umamusume: Pretty Derby?

I stumbled upon the game on a random stream last week and have been playing it like crazy. I've tried a couple gatcha games before but never got into them. This game is completely different for me. It mixes a gacha, deck building, lineage progression, rogue like elements, number crunching, and strategy together into a super addicting game.

It's free to play and I haven't spent a single penny on it so far. I really recommend giving it a try. It's on Steam, Android, and iOS.

If you do give it a try, DO NOT spend your carats on Umas. Spend them on support cards, they are really what you need to play. Also, if you feel you've got bad pulls or make a mistake early on, you can delete your data and start over.

Rednu on YouTube has a really good videos on the games mechanics if you want to know more about how to play and strategy.

Thanks and congratulation to you! I love the styling of the bike too. My grandfather had an Indian Straight 4 in the 40s. I unfortunately never had the chance to meet him and my grandmother made him get rid of the bike before my Dad was born so we just have the photos (Rough upscaled photo below). I've wanted one ever since seeing him with his. I really like how Polaris kept the styling pretty close to the original!

Congrats on the Vulcan 750! I started on a Shadow 700 which is like Honda's version. Is your's carbureted? I always had problems with the carbs on mine. If it is, make sure to only run ethanol free.

I always ride with at least half gear on; helmet, pants, and boots always. Heard many horror stories myself, god willing we will all stay safe as we ride!

Ride safe and make sure to practice the basics! Every once in a while, my Dad and I will meet at a Church or mall Parking Lot and practice our swerves, U-Turns, Slow Racing, Threshold Braking, etc. Once you build the muscle memory, the bike feels like it becomes and extension of your body, haha. Ride safe!

Thanks man! I have collected a good amount of gear over the last few years. I've had a few close calls but thankfully no crashes or slides.

It's tricky here in Florida though since you have to be aware of heat stroke too. Riding in full gear at 98 degrees in the sun will get to you super quick. Especially if you are inland like I am (Very little breeze). I got heat stroke once while riding and it was not fun. I always wear a helmet, pants, and boots though. Keep my jacket with me but I wear it on and off as the weather allows.

Thanks dude, your bike looks sick! How fast have you gotten it, or at least how fast are you willing to share? Haha. Of the 5-6 different bikes I have ridden, this one is definitely the easiest to ride. Even though its around 800-900 lbs, it is easy to maneuver and ride. The seat is above average but not as comfortable as the Police Tractor Seat I have on my Harley.

Not planning too many accessories. I have already gotten a solo seat rack and a seat grab bar to add to its retro look. Pics below. I currently have a lead on a messenger bag that will act as a slim tour pack as well. Matching tan leather and everything. If it works out, I'll post another pic with it on.

Shovelhead's are freaking cool bikes. My 70+ year old neighbor has one, it his original he got after leaving the Navy in the 70s. It sounds sick but I know they are tricky to keep together depending on the year. The H2R looks cool as hell too. Reminds me of something out of Cyberpunk or Bladerunner. I love look of its single sided rear swing arm.

We all start out at the bottom and many of us will never reach to the top, but finding enjoyment in the climb is what makes it worth it. Find things you like doing in the game and do them. Make goals and finish them. Don't worry about others being stronger than you, or mugging you or, how slow you feel you are moving. At the end of the day, you are moving further than those who have quit or those who barely play.

What other gacha games do you play?

I've tried Genshin, Star Rail, and Wurthering Waves. Never really go into any of them though. Don't think open world gacha's are my thing. Although Wurthering Waves is the single most beautiful game I think I have ever seen my computer render.

Voices of the Void. I absolutely love this game. The game play, the horror elements, the game play loop, and progression, I love it all dearly. The game is still in pre-alpha but it is undoubtedly my favorite indie game ever (so far). The pre-alpha is free so I recommend giving it a try for yourself. (Also, there is so much to the game, I can't believe it is still in pre-alpha.)

It mimics the source game engine so the controls are kind of weird. The game is about working alone in a deep space listening station in the Swiss alps. You have to collect and decode deep space transmissions while cleaning and maintaining the facility. There is a lot of secrets to explore and many events. Like 95% of the game is working, cleaning, and maintenance and 5% is horror. This divide is perfect for making the horror actually feel scary. You get so comfortable with the game play loop that once it is interrupted or altered, it makes the horror that much better!

Honestly, give it a try. I can't recommend a game more!

Never played it personally, but I have always found LSD: Dream Emulator on PS1 fascinating. Some people might not consider it a horror game, but it does freak me out a bit.

I swore that I had seen shadow figures peaking around corners at me out of the corner of my eye. Since getting new glasses however, I have not seen one since. Definitely some kind of glare on my old frames. Either that or the shadow figures don't care for my new frames and don't peak at me anymore.

That's the closest to paranormal I have experienced, minus in Phasmo, haha.

Wheel bugs. I saw one of these for the first time in the wild a few weeks ago. I swore it was an alien creature. It thoroughly creeped me out.

The first Jurassic Park movie is tied with Starship Troopers as my favorite movie off all time. During COVID, I held a private reading marathon of many of Crichton's works, and I of course read Jurassic Park and Lost world.

I agree 100% with your criticisms. I was honestly surprised after reading the book how much better the movie is. I'd like to think in the 2-3 years after the book, before the movie came out, Crichton realized that the story could use some tweaks.

Not going to give any spoilers on the Lost World but am interested in hearing your assessment of that book. I'm personally torn between the book and movie on that one.

I will give these few tidbits of advice to anyone who could use it:

• Live one day at a time.
  • Today is the only day that matters, think about what you should do, and what you want to do, then do it.
  • Learn from yesterday but don't think about it.
  • Plan for tomorrow but don't think about it.
  • You only live today once, don't waste it by thinking about other days.

• Your thoughts control who you are, so think good of yourself and your life.
  • Focus on the good things in your life, friends, family, hobbies, or little pleasures like a good meal or sunny day.
  • Things aren't always going to go well for you but you should never only dwell on the bad. Spend some time to dwell on the good as well.
  • Before going to bed every night, I try to think of 3-5 pleasant things that happened to me that day. Could be someone holding a door for me, getting off of work early, a streak of green lights on my commute, anything like that.
    • If you can't think of anything, make a goal to be more aware of the good things you experience tomorrow.
    • When we are struggling, it is easy to suppress the little good moments we experience. Always remember, they are there, you just need to find them.

• There is nothing that you are feeling that isn't okay or hasn't been felt by someone else.
  • We've all had good days, we've all had bad days. While our experiences are unique, we are never alone in our feelings. Pain is pain, anger is anger, love is love, and happiness is happiness.
  • If you are struggling with your feelings, talk to someone you trust. Remind yourself that they have felt like you have before, even if they don't admit it. You are NOT alone.

These are the things I changed in my life that helped me move myself out of a dark place. Most seem obvious but I had to figure them out myself. The biggest change anyone can make in their life is to pay better attention to themselves and their thoughts. Our minds never stop working and we should do well to control what they are thinking, lest they control who we are.
