My suggestion is simple.Or maybe not simple at all.
Add support for the looped gifv or mp4/webM videos. Most platforms have moved to these different formats long ago because they use much less data than normal moving gifs.
I think this would be a huge quality of life improvement in the forums and would dramatically decrease the amount of bandwidth Torn uses. Take it a step further and allow a user setting to allow/disallow auto playing of looped video content to reduce even more bandwidth for some users.
Related but a luxury: Fix the forum editor to automatically see extensions of links as the content that they are. (for media content specifically). I know it's not hard to hit the little image button in the editor but come on now how many people can't read? Let's catch up to 2020!
Make meme's more accessible to the masses! (Also there's just a shit load of content on imgur that I can't share here because Torn only likes gifs.)

Edit: Been over 100 karma for a bit now, still just waiting for the dev to reply. Edit: The requirement was raised to 250 for a response. Luckily this thread was on the bleeding edge of that when the change was made. Unlucky, still no response. YET!
EDIT: While Ched hasn't replied to the bug report here, the bug report was passed to a different developer. What that means is up for debate I guess.
EDIT: This thread has now turned two years old and has still gotten zero response.
EDIT: 400+ updoots and still no response.
EDIT: 500+ Crimes 2.0 has come, same with chat 1.5, still no response or acknowledgement.
As simple as it sounds, adding a copy to clipboard button of some sort after most events trigger. Next to the "okay" button perhaps. I notice a lot of people that play Torn copy a lot of events daily, and having a native button that copies the message to clip board seems like it would be a real improvement to the quality of life on the game. Especially for mobile users who probably have all kinds of fun trying to copy a message.
As far as the button goes though, I assume something small would do the trick. I feel like it would make a lot of people happy.
Edit: I should probably throw in that this button would be handy for more than just your event list. But say, added to the long list of action events. e.g. you've traded in your FHC for a stay at the hotel. [copy] [close]
I've seen too many players quit Torn after having a bad run at the casino. Many people I've talked to didn't even know that self banning themselves was an option.
While I applaud the ability to self ban existing in the first place, the fact that you have to actually find a staff member and contact them makes the whole ordeal way more awkward then it has to be. Think about having to openly admit that you have a personal problem to a member of the Torn staff. It just seems like it could be better.
In casinos where I've worked, we are required by law to post "problem gambler" information at the entrances of the facilities, and give resources for those who need help.
My suggestion is to add a problem gambling resource link to that wiki page somewhere within the casino. Perhaps not right in the players face, but somewhere on the page; with that said, also allow for the player to be able to self ban themselves. This should not just be something that requires a staff member every time.
Torn currently gives the player to delete their account now, but lacks the ability to self ban from the casino. Sounds like a recipe for a lot of quitting players.

I understand why this warning exists and all the pain it's caused the torn database historically, however, not being able to clearly see what items I have the most of makes movement of items into display cases etc is kind of a pain.
Can we have an option added to the item page someday in the future to make this easier to deal with?
I also looked into the API to potentially help with this but I've been informed this doesn't exist due to high item quantities so..
