Post M'aol Edit: Well that about wraps up the summoning folks. Hopefully you enjoyed the event and got some sort of loot whether it be refills arcas or reclics for the most fortunate of us. Ill be working on a maol cycle post/guide thingy that explains how everything works but considering we wont see him for another year its not at the top of my list to do. Happy Halloween and enjoy the rest of the time you have to collect treats!
!!Disclaimer!!: This will most likely ruin some of the surprises this Halloween has in store. If you want to go in blind DO NOT READ THIS
Additional note: This thread is decently long so be prepared to do some reading and scrolling
Now with that out of the way, lets get into it!
Intro:
I've kind of been getting bored of all the item market threads (common guys after 75 posts do we really need a 76th) so I figured I may aswell make a compilation post of what I believe to be one of the coolest upcoming events. As Halloween dawns upon us you may or may not know this coming year two people are very close to unlocking the most expensive basket upgrade known as "Summon Him":
With a cost of 9,999 treats this hasn't been an easy feat and even with optimized baskets it will still be cut close, with the expected ritual date being the 31st of October. However this has left many people scratching their heads with questions. Particularly what exactly does this do? Who does this ritual summon? and what does S***y L**m have to do with it?
Chedders Comments
Starting straight at the source lets take a look at some interesting comments ched has previously made about what the ritual does.
When asked "if this was a race with one winner or if summoning cthulhu second was worth it" ched said
As I've said before, I would not recommend anyone pursue this, as there's nothing to be gained. There's no rewards and nothing good comes of it.
After later being informed that some people were "gonna save my treats and do this in few years out of spite :p", we where further told:
Well you'd be sacrificing everything for effectively nothing.
https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=2&t=16248355&b=0&a=0&start=20&to=21908955
Going off of cheds comments alone, youd think wed be walking into some sort of a trap, or a gotcha where m'aol just swallows your treats and laughs at you right?
WRONG. Ched is actually just a liar and is using deceit to ched you out of some amazing perks or more likely just building up the anticipation of what the ritual does. You'd actually be sacrificing a few years of candy loot, for the potential to get game changing drops and loot (but more on this later)
Meet M'aol:
To begin this adventure we're gonna start with our main protagonist the beast know as Cthulhu legally distinct eldritch being, completely original character M'aol (player id 23). Upon completion of the ritual it is most likely this beast that will move from dormant to awoken, inflicting unknown damage and problems across torn.
I was originally trying to make him wave but then got lazy so you
be happy with what you have
Standing at 9,000 metres tall, with the ability to bench press several sky scrapers, M'aol is depicted as a mythical beast capable of a bunch of damage. However as a mythical overlord, doing your own bidding is kinda boring and overrated so to help them, this beast has 5 additional underlings (Player IDs 100-104):[image: i.imgur.com]

I definitely intentionally wanted the bsp watermark and didnt forget to turn it off
Currently these npcs are traveling, but through some good timing and screenshots we've learned that they have each flown off to a different country to do M'aols bidding. Namely Hawaii, United Kingdom, Cayman Islands, Canada, and Mexico. Additionally from what we can tell these npcs will be attackable and will drop very interesting loot. Now you may be asking what kind of loadouts do they have? and what kinda loot do they drop? and to answer that I would say: "I was just about to get there you nosy little sh*ts ever heard of pacing? Now I'm wasting a paragraph on something else"
The Loam Connection
Have you ever taken a look at the names of the npcs and wondered what they could even mean? Going off the origin of M'aol you may think that the names are in R'lyehian (the language used in the original H.P lovecraft books) and while the rank does actually translate to a valid message putting the names into any sort of translator returns nothing. You may think that the devs entered some sort of a typo, or that they just made new lore but with one aspect translating and the other not it really wouldnt make sense. In reality something far more sinister was taking place, or should I say sandier...
Every name is an anagram for S**dy damn L**m. If you dont believe me take a look for your self:
- Dyno'salam = S***ylo*m
- Asmol'yand = S***ylo*m
- Nol'dasaym = S***ylo*m
Hell even M'aol = Lo*m backwards. Now I know you may be as shocked as I am by this discovery however I do have a lot more to cover so we need to move on.
M'aols Loadout:
Now we're gonna go over what we can confirm Ma'ol is rocking. To start off lets take a look at his armor:
[image: i.imgur.com][image: i.imgur.com]Every piece most likely has Kinetokinesis however at the time or writing we only have 2 populated screenshots
Thats right, despite only being a yellow piece m'aols armor holds some of the best base armor rating in the game, and is topped off with an additional 75% damage reduction to any form of incoming attack. Despite this we always have distraction right? M'aol can reduce as much damage as he wants as long as we swarm him with enough people his stats will basically become zero anyhow. While you ponder over that i instead will provide you with a list of m'aols passive buffs:
- Exosilic Barrier - Block hits unless Essokinesis / Dimensionkinesis bypass it (well get to this one later)
- Void Shroud - 90% chance to block temps
- Enraged - All stats increased by +999%
- Aegis - Immune to 99% of hits while below 1% life
[image: i.imgur.com]M'aol under the effects of his passives
So while distraction is cool and all, youll be damned trying to even hit the beast with your measly mortal weapons.
Speaking of weapons lets check out M'aols:
Applies Blasted causing 50% chance to miss future turns
Applies insanity to all opponents reducing stats by 99%
So if not being able to do any damage, the beast being boosted 999% and being basically impossible to hit at 1% life wasnt bad enough just for fun m'aol also debuffs everyone by 99% and stops you from even getting a chance to hit him half the time.
Now moving on to the minions. While we cant confirm what armor there wearing (which by my best guesses will either be no armor or the same set as m'aol), we can take a look at some of the weapons they have:
Do to the sheer volume of them I dont wanna waste space and repost it all here so you can check them out in this thread instead
The players strike back:
After learning your weapons probably wont work, distraction just doesnt do cr*p and that this beast is otherworldly stated (rip to the top 100 thread, yall probably cant compete with this one) you may be wondering what we can even use to fight back. Well ched has absolutely graced us with 3 things:
Can bypass Exosilic Barrier
Can most likely bypass Exosilic Barrier
Can most likely prevent insanity from affecting you
This gear while costing you a bit more than a normal perfect exchange, provide players with the best chance at being able to damage the damn thing. While you cant get rid of all of m'aols buffs youll atleast be able to do damage and not be sitting at 1% of your stats.
Aside from the aforementioned perks the items also seem to be tiered with a set of locked, tier 1 and tier 2 icons on the basket page. This potentially suggests that there are either activated and un-activated forms of the gear, or that you will be able to upgrade it even further providing more damage and buffs during the fight.
My feebled attempt at recreating what its meant to look like (this is completely wrong btw)
The drops
Now this is the most interesting, if not the coolest thing that may be obtained this Halloween. Starting off tame we have the Arca Fortunae a new supply pack item that will most likely be dropped after M'aol itself is defeated.
Opening animation (no it will not contain Small First aid Kits)
While we dont know whats inside, going off the description it will contain something that the beast itself is willing to die for. My best theory at the moment is that the supply pack will contain a piece of m'aol armor or potentially even one of its weapons(very unlikely).
Now while supply packs are cool, as we know torn citizens love gambling, lets take a look at the actually game changing drops. To preface this it is speculated that each on of these drops is tied to 1 of the 6 npcs (as will soon be indicated by comparing the name of the drop with the name of the npc). Further more it does seem that the further away the npc is the better the drop will be (I didnt actually check this).
Nol'dasaym's drop:
Dyno'salam's Drop:
Asmol'yand's Drop:
Sylo'nadam's Drop:
Ladso'myna's Drop:
M'aol's Drop:
Now if you've read the same effects ive read you can come to the conclusion that some of these effects are absolutely game breaking. When used in combination with other perks or just as standalone items you will quite literally be able to level up your gameplay and become competitive with players both stronger and richer than you.
However since this is torn it can't be all sunshine and rainbows so i'll throw out two theories that came to me in a vision.
- The items will only be active during halloween. This means that they will only work for 7 days of the year providing more of a balancing factor to those who end up possessing them. They may also only be ownable during halloween so after the event is over they disappear from your inventory.
- The items will come with some sort of drawback as well as benefit. The original descriptions of some of these items used to hint at the fact while they do bring a great benefit to the owner they also provide harm. The best example of this was the tentacle, which used to read that while it brings great fortune to the owner it also costs the loss of a loved one (potentially locking you out of marriage or force divorcing you?).
Overall I would be wary of these despite how good they look. When something looks to good to be true it more often than not can be.
Final Thoughts:
Well that about wraps it up from me. As usual I will try to keep this thread up to date with everything I find, but in between hitting for halloween and a busier irl schedule that may be difficult. An additional note is that any or all of this data can be inaccurate or misleading. In the last month alone many changes have been made both in and outside of Halloween. While it does seem in a close to ready state take everything with a hint of skepticism. Next thread will most likely be about the next upcoming crime (atm its called chedding but some of the new items are making me think it will be payday 2 but in torn), however there is one other other cool thing that I may post before then.

TL/DR: Halloween begins on the 25th of October
