The Original Double or Steal Game!

That's right WE'RE BACK! But this time,
stolen pots will be paid by EACH OTHER, and NOT ME!

If you double the pot, and the next person steals it, you must pay them!
So by playing the game, you must understand that you may be expected to PAY someone.

Full Rules

The pot starts with $1,000. Post a comment to either "double it" or "steal it".

If you double the pot, the pot is now $2,000; write this new value of the pot in your comment.
You can also 'double' the pot multiple times in one comment to speed things up.

If instead you steal it, you win the existing pot, unless your comment is edited!
If the comment with 'steal' is edited, the person doesn't have to pay it.
If you steal the pot, the last person who doubled the pot must pay you!
If you double the pot, and the next person steals it, you must pay them that amount!

Once the pot is stolen it resets to $1,000 automatically.

You can post as many times in a row, or per page, as you'd like!
You must write the new pot amount, don't just write "double"!
If your "steal" comment is edited, it will be ignored! Edited comments that "double" are okay.

If you break these rules, the person who steals the pot may not get anything.

Also, per sugarvalves: Quick reminder that anyone who successfully gets a parcel from Duke will have a random chance to receive a Pennywise Mask. If you are successful, your mask will be sent today or tomorrow, it will not come at the same time as the parcel.

The clue for Duke's parcel this year is:

"It ain't fair it ain't so wise I want one come on Chadburn the penny's gotta have dropped ain't it?"

And in the newspaper, the line about masks links to a gif of Pennywise the clown (from the book IT by Stephen King).

It seems the amount has to do with Pennywise (as factionmate Teck pointed out)!

Some initial ideas of the amount:

- Pennywise returns approximately every 27 years (per Valkyrie)
- In the book, Pennywise makes an appearance in the year(s) 1984-1985, and again in 1957-1958 (unsure of precise years)
- The book that I have finishes on page 1153
- Evil numbers 6, 66, 666 (per DedeSilver)
- King began writing the book on Sept. 9th, 1981, and completed on Dec. 28, 1985
- The book was published Sept. 15th, 1986 (per GeorgiaBill)

It seems whatever the amount is, it seems it has to do with the clown! Giveaway is on Oct. 31st, so we have a while to brainstorm...

There's probably lots of these threads... but instead of just trying to make a profit I noticed I was close to a chance for getting the "Diamond Hands" merit (Make a profit of $1,000,000,000 in a single Stock Market sale), when I noticed my block was at $900m+ profit.

 

I saw it top out at $988m profit after bouncing around a bit, and figured it was just a matter of time... but it's now sitting at like $671m :(

 

 

I'm sure it'll bounce back up eventually, but I was so close!

If you're looking to regenerate life (in a war, for example), then yes; otherwise no.

In recruiting or planning? It's paused, there's likely a big "pause" symbol where the countdown usually is. It needs more members to join it to continue planning.

 

The number "2/10" means the heist scenario is Level 2; there are currently 10 levels available.

It does though. To add a 'first step': enter many, many races and your racing skill will increase. 

 

Then as Stanchercomic said, Once your racing skill significantly increases you'll start doing better.

 

Since you have 0 racing points, there's not much else to do if you're using the best car for the track.

More emails, and it seems that emails get 'used up'. That is, if you have 400k and send out a few Investment waves, you may get no responses on the next one and need to gather more emails.

You can avoid levelling up each time it's available to you.

 

Conversely, there are many things beyond training battle stats that gain you levelling XP.
