At some point in Torn's history, everyone forgot to set their clocks. For years. Finally, someone emerged from their drug-addled haze long enough to wonder what time it was, only to find that there wasn't a clock in the city showing the correct time. Analogue clocks had wound down or drained their batteries. All they had were thousands of radios, microwaves and VCRs blinking 12:00.

It took some time for awareness of this collective lapse of timekeeping to spread, and even longer for enough citizens to care to do anything about it. Due to the isolation of the city, no one was really sure how to decide what time it should be.

Finally, 6 months later, a solution was reached through the thoughtful deliberation for which Torn's citizens are renowned: A radio DJ, heading into the second half of both his show and a bottle of tequila, lost his train of thought and stopped mid sentence. After a long, awkward, on-air silence he mumbled "f**k it, it's noon". On hearing those words, broadcast by absurd chance at exactly 12:00 UTC, Torn collectively shrugged, set their clocks, and Torn City Time was born.

If crimes 2.0 comes out, I'll start playing again. Until then I'll just show up to gamble and lurk the forums every few weeks.

First, ask this in Q&A, to get real answers instead of a bunch of trolling.

Second, you could send me all of your money, and I'll double it in a day, guaranteed. At your networth vs mine, we could probably do that a few times before I decided to walk with your cash, so never take an offer like that.

Finally, i recommend going balls deep on the tutorials/guides section of the forums. Read everything.

As you can see by looking at the education pages, you can get some small buffs from a couple of courses, but you have to do them all, then the bachelor, to get a significant increase in busting chance.

Whoever makes the finishing hit gets the option to mug/leave/hospitalize. The other attacker gets an assist in their personal stats.

They're still good for dividends, so don't give that up. Most of the whining I've seen in the forums has been the same that was there before the change. People think they've spotted a pattern, start to depend on it, then get burned by a crash.

I played for most of a year with a gibberish name before I came up with mine.

i don't even fly any more. Save up that plushie money, fill the bank, buy stock blocks and chill.

Plus a lot of hacking helped build that passive income, which to me is worth a slight delay in PA eligibility, which would still be years away anyway.

All i was talking about was the OP, wanting straight increases to crime payout. I just used flying as the next easiest example of money making, which can currently support xanax and point usage.

As much as I'd like crimes to be a more meaningful part of the game, does anyone really think "click button, get money" should be a viable playstyle? One that would support xanax, refills, and potentially more? Even flying involves waits and timing, then selling your stuff.

Sounds like that faction wasn't for you. That's fine. There are a multitude to consider joining, and many have looser requirements for things like chaining.

Quite a jump you made from "my work doesn't allow me time to chain as this faction requires" to quitting the game entirely. I hope you can find a balance.

Why does getting stronger make your bullets hit harder? Why does Xanax give you energy? Why can you continue a race when you get jailed or hospitalized?

You'll drive yourself crazy trying to apply rigorous real life logic to a game, so I recommend chilling out and trying to enjoy it for what it is.

I'm so used to mobile that it's the same for me. Everything on PC takes an extra moment to find.

With tabs, I feel like it's quicker on mobile with 2-3 tabs. My browser (kiwi), lets you swipe across the nav bar to switch tabs, so it's one or two quick swipes to any. I start losing track with more, though.

100% true. Grocery is a poor man's restaurant at best. Grocery is better for money, but restaurant is better if you want to actually use cans, and 30e/day is better than the cans you get from a grocery if you'd be using them.
