The best thing you can do for your company is to be active every day. Your efficiency will rise with every day because your work stats increase every day, keep in mind you only increase 2 out of 3 work stats, depending on your job position.
You can also speed up your work stat gain by "buying trains" if your director offers that. But since your curent company is at 0* your director can not train employees yet.
Each star of the company is a milestone for the company and needed to unlock betetr perks of the company. Main milestones for perks are 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10*.
