Torn City - what can I say? I’m a week in and can’t express my delight at how welcoming so many strangers are towards noobs. Apart from being given gifts, starter packs, advice and the like from people trying to help a new starter out, this has been by far the best community I’ve ever joined. It’s a big shame that in the real world people aren’t nearly as nice towards newcomers/nobody’s/strangers, but what a reception this online dynamic has given me. It kicks me on to keep at the long game and makes me ever more conscious to pass on the good tips and advice to the newbies I see join as I develop further into the game. Bring on the future Torn, I’ve got so far to go and so much to learn, but this game truly brings people together. Much love, YakkityYak

1st point: apologize for a noob post! 2nd point: I'm renting my first PI, but can only seem to hire staff, but don't seem to have an option for upgrading facilities - is this only possible when you own one? side note: lots of PI's seem to have different happiness values, are there different levels/types of PI's you can rent? I'm renting a 2700 one for 15mil a month, but have seen ads for 4000+ at the same price of 15mil, am i being shafted in my current rental?!

Just started using a new laptop and torn tools is no longer allowing me to see some of the features I used to on my old one, like estimated player stats, current market values of items, or where areas of networth have gone up or down. Has torn tools suddenly changed or do i need to amend settings on my new laptop or something? Thanks

I always use YakkityYak for all games now. My name is Jacob and all my uni friends called me Yakob, which developed into Yak. And then YakkityYak. Which consequently is my amateur rapper name too because I have so much street cred and ready to break the scene with my massive rapping skills and all potential rappers need an MC name so whilst I’ll never be famous, I will always be prepared for it with a stage name ? just in case

Managed to hit level 15 in 10 days and wouldn’t have been able to if it hadn’t been for some of the advice I had received since starting. The community has been good to me, so since I’m able to earn a bit more from flying now I have been looking out for other fresh newbies to give some starter packs to. Pass the karma parcel and all that.

Not trolling at all! But sometimes you need to speak out about your better experiences. Sometimes it’s hard getting into a new game that’s been running for years and years but have genuinely been impressed by the people I’ve crossed paths with so far!
Well firstly this just emphasises my forum post about the greatness of torn players and the fantastic welcoming I have been given since starting out! People like you will keep the karma going as more and more players join. This is a great idea, and I won’t lose any sleep if I don’t get selected, but hope your post spreads across the wider reaches of the torn community and brings the best out of all players. What do I hope to achieve from torn? Well, complete greatness of course ;) to become a foundation in the history books, regardless of being a decade or so late to the party!
