Staff members playing the game they moderate creates a conflict of interest.

Using in-game mechanics (dirty bombs, downvotes, etc.) to protest staff decisions shouldn’t be a bannable offense, in my opinion.

If staff are unable to remain impartial, then perhaps they shouldn’t be staff, and staff definitely shouldn't be players with mod privileges.

I couldn't give less of a shit about this. If you don't like the *highly fictional and not at all realistic* church burning, don't commit the crime. This game doesn’t adhere to any particular religious doctrine, nor does it promote 'real world violence' in any way. This is a text-based browser game for crying out loud, get real. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there are no realistic images of a church burning when you commit this crime. All of your manufactured outrage feels like moral panic over a non-issue, and nobody is going to burn down a place of worship in real life solely because they've played Torn.
