Personally, I do not believe in religion for many of the reasons already discussed. I therefore must be atheist. I can accept that. I do believe we were created though. Only not by God but by aliens from another planet or plane of existence. Before you call me a crackpot, think about it. What proof is there that God exists? The sun rising, flowers blooming, love? They can all be explained with science. There is ancient writing and drawings of aliens and technology that was never even dreamed of 5000 years ago. The ancient Sumerians for one. Even in the Bible, and the book of Enoch, aliens are mentioned. There is more proof of aliens than there is of god.
What happens when you die then? Does my soul not go to heaven? No, of course not. To me, that would be hell anyway. I believe we simply cease to exist. Our body has worn out and is put back into the earth from which we came from. I only hope that consciousness dies in the same way. I'd hate to be buried fully conscious, knowing the bugs and worms are eating my body. That would be hell too. That is my belief anyway
