So, I got a racing license and progressed to Class D. This is where I messed up: I sold my Class E car with all the upgrades, assuming it wasn't necessary anymore. Now, I just have a stock Class D car with no points and no ability to podium and accumulate more. I keep finishing in 5th or 6th place, which makes sense, but I feel kind of stuck. I have, now, read the available guides but didn't find anything relevant to this problem.

Is racing in Class D with a stock RM2 until my racing skills compensate for the lack of upgrades my only option?

I hope not because that sounds sort of miserable.

Is there something else I can do to regain control of the situation?

Fair take. The plastic-skin, six-finger, “generic crime lord staring into a neon alley” look has eaten half the site. Newspaper headers, crime splash art, ads, honor bars, PFPs that all share the same cheekbones. It doesn’t look like Torn. It looks like someone asked a model for “edgy city RPG, cinematic lighting” and hit generate until the page filled up.

Torn used to look cheap in a specific way: cropped stock photos, muddy item icons, NPC faces that were clearly some guy from a 2004 headshot pack. That was ugly, but it was our ugly. The new stuff is ugly in the same way every other mid-budget mobile game is ugly. Same face. Same wet asphalt. Same “I have thoughts behind these eyes” expression. Once you notice it, you can’t unsee it.

Two different problems get mashed together on these threads:

1. Official art. If Ched is using it for filler in the paper and small crime illustrations, say so and keep it off the parts that used to have a house style. “Text game so graphics don’t matter” only works until you start slapping generated images on everything and then wondering why it feels like a landing page.

2.The Graphics forum. Charging 10–60m for a prompt plus a Gaussian blur is a separate racket. People can buy whatever they want. Just label it. The ones who get roasted are the ones selling “handcrafted custom art” that still has the melted jewelry and the extra knuckle.

You’re not required to like it. Taste isn’t a water-usage debate. If a page looks like a Midjourney moodboard, it looks unprofessional. That’s a design complaint, not a manifesto.

Nobody’s going to “stop with this AI bullshit” because it’s cheap and fast. The only thing that actually changes the look of the site is staff deciding the official surfaces shouldn’t look like the Graphics section’s bargain bin. Until then you’ll keep scrolling past the same wet assassin.

At the very least, certain stock payouts are 100% required. Specifically the education time reduction one if you don't have it. If I were you Id either do that or focus on getting 2bil in the bank.

Honest question, Why not make an app and charge subscriptions. Sounds like a better return for you and more common option now a days. Or maybe a better question is why not do that?

Merits, rare finds, and you won't fail as much, you know like you have been. You can skip the first couple crimes if you really want to. But for you, based on vibes, I suggest you just do them all.

It also presumably decreases inflation some, likely ridiculously small, amount. Driving donator pack sales.
