How do you get a driver's licence in Torn?
The sources show no driver's licence in Torn. The nearest equivalent is racing class: you start in Class E and rank up through official race finishes, reaching Class D at 25 Racing Points and Class A at 475[1].
The sources do not show a separate driver's licence item or course. The closest mechanic is the racing class, which works as a licence level. Players start in Class E and move up by earning Racing Points from top-three finishes in official races: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd[1].
- Points spent or lost in a crash still count towards ranking up. Company special points do not count; only points earned from racing do[1].
- A 2016 forum FAQ by Baldr gives the same thresholds and says job-gained points do not count[2].
- Racing skill is separate from class. It rises every race, more with longer tracks and better finishes, and car type has no effect[3].
The racing class information comes from a wiki page captured in 2023-12[1]. The sources found no education prerequisite for racing. Reaching Class A earns the Driving Elite honor[4].
