Is continually putting bounties on an incredibly lower level than than yourself out of pure spite, harassment?

I ask this because to cut a long story short, i joined this guy's company, but later found a new company that pays more.
So i left the original company and joined this new person's company.

in pure spite of doing so, the owner of the original company i was in has continuously put multiple bounties on me for the past week. At this point Torn is completely unplayable being in the hospital 24/7, due to the fact that it doesn't allow you to do anything while hospitalized.

Can something be done about this or is my account pretty much useless now?

keeping in mind, the owner of the original company is around level 40, and im only level 11.

Thanks

No it is not harassment. There's nothing you can do about it really, you'll just have to wait it out. I'm sure he'll eventually stop. []

If you can afford it chun, and you know where to find them you can hire middle men to take care of problems like these. Just look through various forum threads for solutions.

Did you leave his company without giving any notice, or did you send him a note stating that you were contemplating a move because you were offered a higher-paying job and you didn't want to screw him over, so you were giving him notice and time to find a replacement?

It is harassment, but also completely legal and even semi-common for leaving a company without notice. Bounties have been placed for far far less.

You will spend lots of time in the Hospital in this game regardless, just ignore and consider it a chance to read some threads in Tutorials and Guides.

Clearly the guy is butthurt LMAO... but no need to worry, just ignore the guy for a while and at some point he will definitely stop as no one has the time/money to waste on someone who doesn't even respond lol.

In the meantime.. if you are really interested in this game what you can do is.. talk to people and join a good faction (join only if you are willing to meet their requirements, else you will invite more enemies) they will help you level up and get stronger/richer in the game, probably kick that guy's ass as well for you if you prove your worth. Have fun!

don't know if you know, but i'm quite new to this game, just look at my stats/ level :P and i don't really know the ins and out of people's behaviors on this site. all i know is, i love playing torn. However, in the moment, posting a thread like this was really my only way of getting some closure on why this has happened. Looking back, it is dumb because if he sees this, he will never stop, just like Fluffy stated. Which is very true. Thank you for the help guys, i appreciate it!

Just ride it out dude. A week is a blink of an eye in Torn. Take this as a lesson that managing companies and keeping them staffed is hard work - if you leave without giving any notice you will piss someone off, just like in real life. Except in this game they can bounty : )

Clansy commented that making threads on players is actually fine, around the time you could block people from buying from your bazaar by blacklisting them and a thread being made with buy muggers.

Looking at the rules itself I also don't remember seeing an actual rule against the practice unless it's been updated recently.
Mat-Senpai [952164]

That's a good question actually, until clansy made the comment and ungraved the naming thread i also was under the impression it was against the rules.
MaxHeadRoom [1429645]

my belief was that naming names in a forum thread whilst complaining about their actions was against rules.

whilst the OP is new and slightl;y whiney about the bounties it isnt really breaking the rules.

HOWEVER, he hasnt named names but it is considered bad form to quit your job in torn without any notice and presumably without even a pm saying ' sorry'

personnally i would consider this whole episode to be a learning experience and move on.

crying is a sign of weakness. the vultures will come now :P

some people take their companies very seriously some even think its the main part of the game for them.

when leaving a job you should give notice, days notice would be best.

if i ever left this company i would give at least 1 weeks notice, that is good so a replacement can be found who has good work stats like me.

just saying bye i have a better job now is NOT the way to do it. the director of your company is a person remember. it isnt all about you.

you must show some class in this game.
