I started playing Torn in 2013 and have been inactive for about 5 years now but recently logged back in on a whim. I remember, back then, whenever someone started a thread like this it would be downvoted to hell and there'd be many nasty comments, which was part of the reason I slowly stopped playing the game as much...
Seeing the positive response to this thread today has honestly really brightened my day- I'm glad the community attitude has changed so much in these last few years! <3

But yes, if you want to, you can just go and use your E (xans, refills and all) on mugging random noobish inactives (e.g. brain surgeons), and that will get you 30-50m a day (with 10 merits in mugging) at the complete expense of your stats.
I wouldn't really recommend it; it's a bad use of energy and a shitty mugging strategy- I did it because my stats were already terrible for my age, I wanted to fill up my bank fairly quickly to get some kind of passive income going, and I was too lazy to trade/whatever else people do to make money.
