[250+R] Faction alliances · · 297 likes

I know that we have informal alliances by means of in-game and out-game communication, but I feel like this should be implemented as an actual mechanic in the game. This can open up new possibilities for wars, including larger, longer, and more complex wars, and the revive setting allowing only faction members and friends to revive you can also be changed to include alliance members (which is the first reason why I thought of posting this suggestion). I'll add more to this based off responses so if you would like to collaborate on this idea, reply below.

One main functionality is a tab when you go to your factions page, which will be obviously titled "alliances". There will be an interface showing allied factions and tabs to see their members (for the purpose of quick revival) and current wars (for the purpose of knocking their enemies off walls). Since the devs implemented a waiting period between joining a faction and participating in wars, the option won't be available.

Edits:
Mary [2161411] suggests that alliances should be set to public or private, since there are "quite a few secret alliances" and that some factions might want to ally with factions who oppose one another. For example, A and C hate each others guts but both are allied with B. A would break their alliance with B if B was found to be allied with C, and vice verse, so it would be wise for A to keep one or both alliances secret.

My idea is to have the formation and dissolution of alliances basically like with marriage/divorce,. One faction leader sends the request, the other leader accepts, and if either don't want to be in alliance anymore, they can break it.

Before you say this will make things unbalanced, we can think about balancing it later. I'd prefer we discuss it and collaborate on it instead of this idea being crapped upon.

caddylac suggested adding to this, so I'll include it here.

"I would go further than this , not just alliances:

Introduce casus belli, tied to faction OCs and maybe missions:
  • assassinate a target from their fac for example would put them in hosp for a longer amount of time and would give them a casus belli on their faction
  • rename the other OCs that when successful to create a cb on a territory, give opportunity to start a raid and other types of war that will be introduced
  • give alliances and non aggression pacts meanings by not allowing normal attacks between fac members for the period of the treaty so that not everyone and their mother is allied to each other
  • OPTIONAL : maybe create a vassal type pact if the desire is to go into the fac family direction (interrupting it by the vassal fac gives a cb to the overlord to re-establish said vassal)
  • all cbs expire in time
  • tier OC results where possible (hosp more members or add more hosp time to targets, get a cb on more then one territory from the target fac) depending on an OC exp modifier similar to wep exp
breaking a pact or declaring without the proper CB to give significant debuffs to the attacking faction"

I'll need to do some analysis of the changes brought to the medical system and edit this accordingly.

[150R+] Merit upgrade branch: metabolism · · 157 likes

Since we got a couple more merit upgrade branches, being addiction mitigation and employee effectiveness. One I think would be hella useful is metabolism, more specifically reducing drug, booster, and medical cooldown by a certain percentage. Each merit spent on this branch would reduce booster/drug/medical cooldown by a certain percentage (1%). This will stack with any related faction and company perks.

Penetration suggested:

Yes at 1% for drug cool down only. Anything more is OP.

Yes at 1% for booster cool down as a separate branch.

I'll even give a yes at 1% med cool down as a third branch.

Each of these being able to be decreased by up to 10% at the cost of 55 merits, or 165 merits to max all 3. Definitely changes up some play styles. Combining any of this is too over powered though.

Could also consider a branch for boosting revive HP given and/or revive cool down and/or revive success chance, as a way to appease all the pissed off revivers.Considering they have fewer places where their merits spent would be meaningful to them.

Random encounters in the city. · · 126 likes

On the new city map, it's basically links to the other pages and the occasional item to pick up. I would like to propose something new: random encounters.

When you open up the city, you will see some makers. These markers will map out a certain event. When you click on a marker, an annotation will pop up showing you the chance of success and the outcome should you succeed/fail. These random encounters will require both nerve and energy, the amounts depending on the event. Encounters will also have a good and bad choices you can make, like turning in a briefcase or taking it for yourself, both choices having different results, varying in magnitude from small cash bonuses or hospital/jail time to a cache of weapons/armour/drugs/other goodies.

Events will include:

Armoured car shipment (Success results in gaining an X amount of money or an amount of random weapons/armour/ammo/medical supplies/jewelry. Failure results in hospital/jail time)

Drug bust (Success results in gaining random amount of a drug and/or money. Failure results in jail time.)

Odd job (Success results in a small gain of working stats (all stats will increase by a certain amount, equally) and a small amount of money, a moderate boost in happy, sometimes an item. Failure results in loss of happy.)

Murder for hire (Requires payment. Success results in hospitalization of target player. Failure results in long jail time.)

Favour for money (Requires payment depending on favour. Success results in boost of company sales and popularity, failure results in a massive drop in sales and popularity (requires being a director of a company).)

Let me know what you think.

If you like it, please bump.

[100+] Universal company special: overtime · · 115 likes

Since we have an effectiveness score with a breakdown of the score in the company page, I feel we should have a way to get a small bonus amount of effectiveness.

With the overtime special, one can do so by spending an amount of job points and energy, and taking a hit to some happiness, just like in real life. Perhaps a player is on the brink of getting fired or a pay cut because of reduced effectiveness due to addiction. Or perhaps they are looking to get that raise once they reach a certain level of effectiveness.

All companies will have this regardless of type or rank.

Let me know what you think.

AshleyT suggested to have it boost the performance in a way that negates any penalties.

[APP] Tabs like in Chrome · · 68 likes

When I play on my computer, I have multiple tabs of torn open to have quick access to frequently used pages, such as my bazaar and the item market when selling stuff or the newspaper bounty page and pages of target profiles. I'd like to see this in the app for convenience.

Here is a picture below where the tab button can go

Looking to make chains easier ·

So, I have a list of targets I am guaranteed to be able to defeat, and at the moment I have to copy and paste them one at a time. I'm looking for something that I can just paste the list and it will open each individual targets profile in individual tabs to the right of the current tab, if that makes sense.

Cheers

My idea is that once a day you can spend points to sober up, and by that I mean your drug cooldown is reset back to zero, allowing you to skip the wait so you can take another drug. Temporary effects from the drug end just like when the cooldown ends.

Don't think I need to flesh this out any further, seems simple as it is.

Classic/lightweight interface ·

Don't get me wrong, the interface is great, but I have a slower and older computer, think something from 2013. Yeah yeah I know, I need to upgrade and I will once I get around to it but it still works fine, it's just kinda slow. I feel like something more basic and text-based would be better, and this would not only benefit people with slower machines, but also those with slower internet speeds.

Back to casino button missing on spin the wheel ·

When you are spinning a wheel, the only button is to the wheel selection, not directly back to the casino, only at the wheel selection page is there a button to go back to the casino.

I only get certain notifications now. Sometimes I get energy and nerve and drug notifications but that's it.

Spent points on an energy refill and got nothing ·

I did a couple attacks, then went to refill my e, pressed the button, got nothing and was told to come back tomorrow because I had apparently used it up. I then decided to dump my nerve and do a refill of that and it went through. The energy refill doesn't appear in my logs but the nerve one does.

Mission target in fed ·

I'm doing the mission where you need to defeat a list of targets until you find the right one, one of them is in the fed (https://www.torn.com/profiles.php?XID=2235229), meaning if that is the target I cannot complete the mission.

I'm currently posting this with TornTools enabled but this is irrelevant to the issue.

Mission reward price discrepancy ·

As the title suggests, had you read it, I'm talking about the price, specifically the two different prices for the same quantity of the same type of item coexisting in the rewards section. It's nonsensical that this is the case.

Mission reward price discrepancy ·

I did buy and the issue is the discrepancy. Makes no sense.

I don't believe this requires any further explanation, but please let me know if it does.

Yes. I got energy and nerve notifications on my phone once and now only event notifications and mails.
