Usually, I don't post much... Nor do I divulge much of my personal life.
However, I'm proud of myself and wanted to share a recent happening. I've been clean of alcohol for well over a month now. This is a huge deal since I've been a heavy drinker since my teenage years and it's impacted me both physically and mentally in many different ways.
These past two years have been especially rough on me - from getting covid to losing a family member. I used alcohol as a crutch and these events to excuse my excessive indulgence. I've got my second wind now, though.
In terms of how many days? I don't know. I stopped counting after three weeks. Why? I felt if I kept track, I'd be finding myself saying "Hey...a shot wouldn't hurt. I've been clean for two months. It won't hurt." So, I made the choice to just keep going rather than track the amount of days.
I won't lie... It's been a fairly tough road. Homebrewing is one of my main hobbies, and I still collect bottles. The temptation is very much there at times and I could feel myself slipping sometimes due to real life demons, but if I let go now, there's no turning back. My life is so much better now... My head is clear, my body is healing, and I get to devote that time and energy to people I care about and to expanding interests I never had before.
Anyway, I'm starting to ramble a bit... I want to thank all of my friends (too many to name) and faction for supporting me through this. I truly, truly couldn't have done this without them. Without certain people and events that I've experienced on here, I definitely wouldn't have made it this past year.
First and foremost, id like to give a big thank you to everyone on my team and those who have provided their morale support throughout the comp. None of this wouldnt have been possible with you guys.
As of now, I currently hold the record for most hits made during Elim (1540) by a Non-NPC, with the previous record held by Thief at 1436. https://www.torn.com/forums.php#!p=threads&f=2&t=15982553&b=0&a=0
I was extremely surpised I made it this far since I had some tough competition and faced four ODs and lost access to a 10* farm during the last two days of the comp. I'm also the first player to reach 1500 hits during the comp.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who supported us through the competition, your help was very much appreciated. I was thrown into this competition and had moderate expectations, I'm glad myself and my teammates were able to do better than we expected. I also want to thank my team mates for trusting me to make some big decisions, some were questionable, but they did their best to try and make them work. We fought hard and we fought well.
Today's elimination was a bittersweet moment, I was sad that after how much effort we put in we were eliminated. But I'm glad that we can go back to training and hopefully have another shot at it next year! Also... I've missed quite a bit of sleep since this competition started, so... That's a plus! I also made lots of friends and had a good laugh, so it made being eliminated slightly less soul crushing!
Big props to the other teams who ate still in, best of wishes to you!
Also a big thanks to MysticBix for creating this awesome sig!
This cut deep... You'll be missed on here, by lots of people. But we're not letting you off the hook that easy :o Your discord is about to be wrecked with messages
A bit odd, but... I enjoy snacking on habaneros. I've gained a higher spice tolerance these past few years and habaneros are kind the sweet spot for me.
