After 6+ yrs of grinding my ass off. Hitting the top 60 for reviving. Been a part of some really awesome factions and leadership roles. And now being screwed over by a greedy prick for his own personal gain. I have come to the conclusion that my time on this game is over.
My story started in March of 2016. I was about 6 mths clean from drugs. After using them for 19 yrs. Suffering from Major Depressive Disorder with anxious distress and anti-personality disorder. My RL best friend had joined Torn due to her BF's friend. She showed me the game. I looked at it and figured it was something I would like. Considering I grow up play AD&D as a kid in the late 80s n 90s.
So, I made an account. Joined a faction. Started to ask questions. I eventually left that group of ppl. I ended up getting my reviving perk around this time too. So, I joined a reviving faction just in time for the elimination event in 2017. Where I first met MeanMike (despite what ppl might think of him I find him to be a pretty cool dude). After while I wanted more from reviving so I ended up joining Hela. Stayed there for a long while. Learning more as I went along. Afterwards, and struggling to keep up with others I left.
Where I join Unrelenting Medical (URm) where met Scrooge McDuck, Darkwing Duck, Lord_OFlame, Idzy, n KDA. this was around 2018. Eventually I would be moved into a leadership role there. I was in that role when UR split from Relentless. I was also there when UR was destroyed by boogie cuz of Zahid cheating.
URm kept going until being sold off in late 2019 early 2020. Prior to that happening we as a faction stumbled across Rabid Chalupas. I struck up a friendship with their leaders. After the sale of what was now called BDSM. I left there (not on good term and only days away from gaining my 500 faction merit). I joined RC only wanting to be member.
During my time in RC I eventually get into leadership (that bug wouldn't leave me despite my best effort). I love helping ppl. Especially noobs!! I always remember what it was like for me when. I was one. Not knowing shit.
But, I had goals I wanted to do since my first week playing. Like owning a company (I've owned 3 myself). My first company was a property broker. Where I spent the next 8 mths building from a new company 0* to making the 2nd highest 10* PB in torn. But. Despite that there was always something I wanted more. Not just a leadership role in a faction but, owning my faction. So after 5+ yrs of grinding, failing, getting scammed for 400m. I was finally able to just that. I reached out to a close friend of mine on Torn. Asked him if he wanted to be a co-owner with me. (Jrockmagic u r f**king awesome brother. I love u man.) Then I proceeded to get with another close friend of mine Kr0n0s69 (you too man I love ya brother). I bought his faction back in January of this year. Where me n my crew started to build this faction up. I spent more than half my total net worth to buy the faction and stock it.
Where I f**ked up was thinking I had friends in leadership roles with us. I met Jrock n EVETINE during my time in URm. It was there I saw their potential as future members of Torn. So, for me it was a no brainer choice to ask both Jrock n EVETINE to come in as leaders (now looking back that was a the BIGGEST mistake in my Torn life).
After 6 mths of grinding in my my RL was catching up to me. I was working 40+ hrs a week in 6 days for 18 months straight. So, up to recently my Torn life was good. But, my activity was declining. Work finally caught up to me. Jrock had his RL happen so he had to step down as an active leader. He left joined another faction. And did him (Brother I'm not mad at u for it). So that left EVETINE, Xhex, Kr0n0s, n myself to run things. So, yesterday awhile I was at work having to be there all day 9am EST to 8pm est. I took my 2nd Xanax of the day. Show u had an addiction lvl. Flew to rehab. During my flight back I saw where Evetine cancelled the OC we was in. Ok whatever. Well once I was able to logged on check the faction page. I saw where he had left (not thinking he was gonna do me or the faction dirty). I talked to him asked y he had left. He told me that he felt stagnant and that the fashion was dead. Okay, cool I get that. I wished him well n went back to work. It was after I got off work n went to took my 3rd Xanax for the day. Was when I saw it I just happened to go to give members page n seen the -630m curious as to why. I scroll down had seen where that POS took the money. So I checked the faction logs. Seen where he not only took 2.6b from the faction but also the 3k points we had.
So, yeah I was pissed rightfully so. But, more hurt that someone I knew for 3 yrs considered a good friend would do that.
So, in closing I'm not gonna rebuild from this. I spent many yrs of my life playing Torn. Had ups n downs throughout it all. Finally getting where I wanted to be in y Torn life. Only for a POS scum bag. Who wanted to be a selfish little bitch. To steal from us just cause RL showed up. I'm done with Torn. I hope EVETINE is happy. He took something from a player who loves this game. A game that literally saved me from myself. And, now that wants nothing to do with it at all.
So, in 39 days time after I have 1 last thing to deal with in here I'll be closing my account for good. I want to say THANK YOU to Chedburn for making Torn. Giving ppl like me something to do when RL was tough. I also, wanna say THANK YOU to all the great ppl I have met over my 6 yrs here. Y'all r the best a community has to offer. I'll miss y'all greatly. I love y'all. I hope Torn doesn't turn out like it did for me.
