But yeah I'm sadly used to it. 

In my opinion, being homophobic is being incapable of accepting someone that isn't inherently heterosexual. I don't really like how it's called.. Because 'phobic', implies you have an incontrollabe fear. Which isn't true at all with 'homophobia'. It's like racism, in a way. You fear someone else's (or even your own) identity which is unfounded. If one opens their mind a little, discuss, and learn with said people, they can outgrow this outdated opinion on something that don't affect them personally (unless they're doing self-denial). 

My father used to be homophobic. But, with my mother (hetero and ally of LGBTQ) and grand-mother (pansexual) and then when I got in my teenage years (also pansexual), he outgrew this mindset, because he got to see what it is. Regular folks that you will mingle with and that just want the same treatments as everyone else. 

I hope comments in this stays respectful <3
