Armors down from 1,5b to 1b, melees and mediums from 1b to half a bill etc. Where is the floor? Opening 100 mediums albeit a lottery would likely end with 50 worthless items, 30 semi decent 500m to 1b items and then those 20 would be a pool of decent oranges to epic reds. No data to backup the claim hence - Anyone ever open that many to back me up and confirm the theory that at 500-600m melees and mediums are more profitable to open than to sell?

Based on rank armour sets price looks like armour cache is safest one to open compare to other caches. N there are 3 ways to sell the sets or parts. Trade, bazaar, and auction house.

Melee, small n medium caches suck based on my calculation. The trashy ones of melees n medium worth 100m, ppl only pay on less garbo or decent one for 300m, n it is rare to get something worth billions. Can it cover the money lost?

So tbh imo only armour cache worth opening. To make things worse only way to sell rw weapons most likely from exhausting bumping threads, shamelessly door to door salesmanship, or advertise nonstop in tradechat. Tbh it's garbage bizz for ppl who gladly turn torn into a job.

Are you asking for someone to share how much they are making opening caches? Or are you trying to increase cache demand and to increase prices again?

From an anonymous cache seller opinion, yes, this is the best time to buy a lot of caches. Buy them now!

Pretty sure ched said something about an exchange program for the caches so that even the bad ones will still hold some value. We will probably have to wait for that update and details- as that would determine the price floor. Guessing there would be some fee or something to pay to exchange your bad rw item for new cache.

i see a few options with the trade ins.

~a set amount, like 3:1 ratio or something, of items traded in for a new unopened cache
~like cs:go, 10 yellows trade in for an orange, 10 oranges for a red, 10 reds for a sweet pair of cosmetic gloves
~a points system where several factors grade your gun and give you an amount of a new currency to spend in a RW shop
~ched makes an announcement that its a 1:1 trade in ratio for new caches, the market explodes, everyone trades in but doesnt get new caches, ched says its a system overload and that you can keep trading in and he will get it fixed 'soon'. he never fixes it and everyone is out loads and loads of money.

- In future, we plan on introducing a way to exchange unwanted advanced weapons and armor for fresh unopened caches. This means that even if one is arguably useless, it will still retain a reasonable value.

The item market update and ability to trade in unwanted yellow / orange / red weapons are still a ways away. The item market needs a full rebuild from the ground up, we'll add filtering and sorting functionality for bonuses with that project - It's not going to be quick, so everyone will still need to rely on private traders for now. Torn is big, and we have many priorities, it's easy to look at one area and say we're not doing enough - but we're also working on a dozen other areas at the same time.

Armor`s prices will go down too, but it will take time because a lot of rich people still don`t have the sets they want. When they will red one's price will be good yellow or orange will start dropping.

Supply, demand, and nutjobs. They were never worth what they were going for because inevitable saturation. Selling was the only smart move unless you just didn't care about money. They could only go down.

Torn is a long term game, anyone that spent more than ~5% of their networth on them probably made a mistake. The % is arguable of course.

Armor cache went upto 2b a month and half earlier and now they are at 1b. Also lots of armor seller are finding difficult to get rid of armours so I think they will come down more faster

This is more of a price correction and not a recession.

A recession is when your mom comes over to my house and we make a sandwich to eat together.

I have also heard of this exchange system. Could this be Big Al’s bunker? I hope this is more than a rumor as it will keep circulation lower making income/quality of life better for us poor farmers.

More factions are progressing higher and getting more caches per win. More supply of caches leads to lowering of price per cache, unless demand significantly increases. Seems like a pretty simple result, and was always expected to happen over time that the prices on RW weapons and caches would decrease to some extent.
Aktivist [2741356]
For every rank a faction gains another faction loses. I'd say prices will keep dropping until a few factions are max rank.
Once ranks stabilize a little and established RW faction keep bouncing between the same 2-3 ranks the market will be stable. I think a few are already diamond ? We're not very far off... A few months maybe then we'll see the real value of caches until the exchange system hits which is in... A few years ?
