In April 2016 an admin tool removed karma gained in the Travel and Plushie threads. A General Discussion thread filled with complaints, support and replies from officers and an admin.

In September 2015 a General Discussion thread asked whether the Dog Tag competition was fair. An officer defended it, and developer Chedburn offered to remove an unnamed poster and their 47 tags, an offer Leafeh later described.

- "Coward faction leaders": a new faction's leader confronts the filler-war habit
In June 2017 NuffleMurda called the leaders of much larger factions cowards for declaring war on a faction of level 3-5 players. Several players answered that they were filler targets for chains. A moderator replied too.

- "An AOW War that didn't time out": a faction forum thread bumped for six months
In April 2016 TheHoneyBadger started a thread mocking MarlonBrando and AOW over a war. It drew 217 replies, jokes from a Torn officer, and was bumped again in October.

- SA, FTW and HIV against a list of factions: a territory-war thread, October 2016
A Graveyard-board thread from October 2016 framed a territory beta fight as SA, FTW and HIV against many factions. JFK members disputed it with attack counts, and officers joined the banter.

- Bar Torn City: a free-beer thread runs eight months, then closes
Hopslam opened Bar Torn City in Fun and Games in February 2018 with a large stock of beer. On 17 Oct 2018 they announced its end, and regulars posted farewells.

- Sneak attack row: Destructive Anomaly, JFA and FTW trade war and insults, Jan 2016
A January 2016 faction war between Ðestructive Anomaly and JFA, with FTW help, began with a complaint about a cancelled war and guests. It ended in a JFA win and a long insult thread.

- Hildegarde's bounty warning to Rise Above members over Kata
In July 2018 a mass message attributed to Hildegarde told Rise Above members to expect bounties and overseas hospitalizations over Kata. The Faction Discussion thread ran for a month.

- SA against PT and Wolfpack: a 2-on-1 war and the row over bounties
In February 2015 SA fought PT and Wolfpack in a war with lopsided terms. The forum thread turned into an argument over bountied revivers and who was taking the loss badly.

- Duke's Valentine's Day Charity Drive: a contest, a donor list and a boycott call
On 14 Feb 2017 Duke [4] opened a \"charity\" thread with a contest for the worst Valentine's story. The thread drew over 200 replies, and a payment boycott and scam accusations followed.

- Players build a Dirty Bomb List from memory and old threads
In November 2014 IIIlusionist [253384] opened a thread to list dirty bombs dropped since 2008. Players added entries from memory, and the thread was still being linked as a reference in 2016.
2014–2020 · Old Torn
- SA vs JFK: a war thread reposted, mocked, and closed after a nine-hour war
In April 2015 Ali reposted a war thread for a Subversive Alliance rank war against JFK. The thread drew jokes, a Hydro dispute and reviver complaints, and ran to 598 replies before it was locked.

How to read a story
Every statement in a Torn Story is checked against the archived posts it cites. Statements without a label are established: the record shows them directly. Everything else is labelled and says who is speaking.
- Established
- The record shows it directly: a post and its date, staff's own words, a thread's figures or TornLife data.
- Participant claim
- What someone involved said about their own actions or experience. Their account, not verified.
- Allegation
- An accusation a player made, attributed to them. Never TornLife's finding.
- Community speculation
- Guesses, theories and rumours from players.
- Joke
- Banter or trolling, presented as such.
- Torn roleplay
- In-character play, presented as such.
Stories are generated by TornLife from the forum archive (June 2014 onward) and checked automatically before they appear. They report what players said, attributed to them; they never state why an account was federally jailed and never include anyone's real-world details. Spotted a mistake? Tell us.
