What TornLife has verified
- Diamond factions also have a numbered position. Beating a faction with a better position steals it, and the loser's position drops by one. (documented; Ranked War › Ranks › Diamond Ranking, )
- Rank decay: after a 10-week grace period without enlistment, a faction loses one division every two weeks until it reaches Bronze. Warnings come a week before. A faction remaining enlisted in the pool does not decay. (documented; Ranked War › Ranks › Rank Decay, )
- Caches are the ranked war reward items. Each gives at least a Yellow quality weapon or armor with a class-specific bonus, with small chances of Orange and smaller of Red. Types: Melee, Small Arms (SMG/Pistol), Medium Arms (Rifle/Shotgun), Heavy Arms (Machine Gun/Heavy Artillery). (documented; Cache › Melee / Small Arms / Medium Arms / Heavy Arms Cache, )
- Factions have an Actual Rank shown publicly, increasing with ranked war wins. There are six ranks: Metal (1 division), then Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond (4 divisions each). Wins and losses move a faction up or down a division. A win in the final division of a rank gives two divisions (e.g. final Bronze to second Silver). Factions start Unranked in Metal. (documented; Ranked War › Ranks › Actual Rank / Entry Requirements, )
- Armor Cache and Melee Cache (both released 7 December 2021) are given to factions at the end of a ranked war, appearing in the faction armory. They can also be bought at Big Al's Bunker, and cannot be sold to a store. (documented; Armor Cache, )
- Before the March 2024 update (patch #332, 02/04/2024), underdog wins and wins after a loss streak boosted rewards, and low participation cost the loser an extra division. Diamond went from 7 divisions to 4. (documented; Ranked War › Historical Notes (1/2), )
- Patch history: 09/07/2024 auto-enlistment disabled; 21/03/23 no points awarded to factions without Point Storage upgrade; 31/01/23 enlistment excludes factions with 20% or more members in federal jail; 24/01/23 rank decay changed to every two weeks after ten weeks. (confirmed by Torn; Ranked War › Historical Notes (1/2), )

- Patch #273 (24/01/23) changed ranked war rank decay to every two weeks after the ten week period without enlistment, originally a decay after every 10 weeks. (confirmed by Torn; Patch list #273 : 24/01/23 — changes to Ranked War (2023-01-24), )
- Since patch #281 (21/03/23), ranked wars give no points to factions without the Point Storage upgrade. (confirmed by Torn; Ranked War › Historical Notes (1/2), )
- Since patch 21/03/23, ranked wars award no points to factions that lack the Point Storage upgrade. (confirmed by Torn; Patch list #281 : 21/03/23 — changes to Ranked War (2023-03-21), )
