You should read Baldr's guide. All the info needed is in that guide.

Don't search the dump. You should use all your energy at the gym and attacking leveling targets, which you can find in the guide.

Once you reach level 15, you can travel which can get you 6 million a day if you are active. Then you can use this money to start flipping items or trade. Selling losses is a good strategy at the first, I would recommend selling losses for 350k each at discord servers until you can afford a large suitcase.

Getting into a good faction is important because of the perks. (higher gym gains, additional 10 travel items, etc) 1 million or more respect is good. You can get decent gear like combat armor, armalite, dbk in good factions too. Once you get enough stats, you can earn a lot of money from ranked warring and OCs.

Use all your nerve in search for cash and get it to level 75-100. Once you did this you can move on to other crimes. I like shoplifting (pharmacy and Big Al's) and burglary. Card skimming is good to leave it there and collect after a couple of months. Later on, scamming and cracking are good for cash.

Put all the money you have besides what you need in the bank.

Do the sports science classes first for the gym gains.

Put your merits in education time reduction and bank interest increase.

Yes, the bushmaster and the bt mp9 are both smgs so it will include them. If you are not sure about a weapon, you can look it up on the torn wiki

It's much better to risk the mug or just sell to a trader. The anonymous fee is too high

Attacking npcs with the weapons mentioned above is also a good idea because you can get much more hits on npcs than most players around your stats.
